I thought it would be beneficial to give everyone a breakdown analysis of our first Nythendra kill but I did not have time to breakdown our Ursoc attempts. I plan on writing an in-depth analysis of our raid weeks every Sunday morning and posting it here (without the opinionated paragraphs at the bottom...just data). I welcome any input in the comments below. If anyone thinks certain data sets or analysis would be helpful, PLEASE let me know... I can manipulate this data fairly easily. If you would like a detailed analysis of yourself, for the raid week, please leave a comment below and I will respond with your data.
We had 9 total wipes and 1 successful kill on Nythendra. Four attempts on Ursoc.
The following link breaks down top heals/hps and dmg/dps for all Nythendra wipes and the kill:
Damage, DPS, Healing, HPS.
The following breakdown reviews damage taken by the raid from all sources. I only included the last half of wipes and the kill because the first few wipes are going to just be raiders getting used to the mechanics.
Damage taken by source.
The following breakdown reviews deaths by source and lists the three last hits of each death. This is probably the most important data:
Deaths by Source and 3 Last Hits.
The following breakdown reviews DPS and Damage for Normal Cenarius and Xavus to Heroic Ursoc (the last image)..
Your text to link here...
The last image (DPS and Damage) is one of the most key sets of data for this analysis. This data contains percentage columns to the left and the right titled "iLvl %" and Perf %". These compare your performance to other similarly geared, classed, and specced players for that boss on the same difficulty. For example: if you are a frost DK and it says 7% next to your name, you are beating only 7% of other frost DKs, with a similar iLvl, on that boss. It also means 93% of those frost DKs are doing more damage than you. It was pointed out, in the comments, that these numbers are probably low because heroism was not popped during the Ursoc fights.
As you can see... the overall DPS of the top 9 raiders increased quite drastically for the kill. The top 9 all were able to jump from a sub-200K average to closer or higher than a 200K average. Overall, total damage increased quite a bit as well, which could be due to the increased time spent in combat (for the kill). Healing drastically increased from the wipes to the kill as well with almost all the healers jumping above 170K hps.
BURST OF CORRUPTION IS OUR GREATEST ENEMY. Burst of Corruption is the green explosion emitted by the bugs, which spawn while the boss is napping. In our final attempt and kill, we experienced 0 deaths from Burst of Corruption. In almost every wipe, in which we reached the sleep phase, Burst of Corruption absolutely decimated us. If a player did not directly die from Burst of Corruption...chances were that one or two of the last three hits were Burst of Corruption. Some names also consistently standing in the way of Infested Breath... sometimes the killing blow and other times one of the prior three hits. Infested is listed as a big killer but that is more a side affect of being hit with other sources as Infested is a stacking DoT. If someone is killed by Infested it is likely they werent healed in time or were brought low by other sources. Rot was also a high damage mechanic and we saw, throughout the raid, people learning how to move OUT of the raid and improve on infested ground placement.
From the data above, we can see the raid's damage and healing output, who needs to improve on "bad stuff on ground" awareness, what boss mechanics are causing us the most trouble, and what changes we made to overcome mechanics. It seems like the success of our kill was attributed to a dramatic increase in DPS/Healing and raid awareness in the sleep phase, to avoid those exploding bugs. We also saw a much better avoidance of the raid when infested with Rot.
