I run a similar build to icy-veins. I use the same spec for all encounters (I could tweak for more aoe, but I don't feel like swapping back and forth all the time). I'll explain my reasoning for certain non-icy-veins selections.
I went with guardian affinity over balance affinity for the increase in survival and the potential for an "oh crap" stand in tank ability. The extra range from the balance affinity is awesome, and can be extremely useful in situations where there's crap on the floor. But, you can't dps when you're dead, so guardian it is! (both are valid on IV, but here's my reasoning anyway)
I chose to go with Incarnation: King of the Jungle over Savage Roar (the currently recommended talent from icy-veins). I had gone with Savage Roar for the first week of raiding. However, I was frequently finding myself combo point starved and unable to keep both the roar and my bleeds up all the time. It also takes a bit longer to ramp up to damage dealing goodness. I haven't noticed it negatively affecting my overall dps. So I will stick with my king of the jungle.
This is just what I'm running. As always, you do you boo
Alright, with some not so great numbers I decided to switch to what the top warcraft log druids were using as far as specs go. Which I think is the same as the current icy-veins recommendations. Regardless, I shall post a nice picture anyway.
I do like my old talent set up for questing/solo'ing. It's got a less complicated rotation and increased survivability. I really really love the balance affinity for the extra range. It helps keep my paws out of damage.
Mastery and crit are suuuuuuper close to each other for sims. Most top ferals are going FULL into mastery. I'm running more of a balance between them (because I'm not paying to change my enchants and crit is still .01 worse than mastery, which is nothing)
