If we are still going to run with Master Looter this is how it will be done just so that there is no more confusion.

MS>OS (obviously)

-If you have won something already and someone rolls against you who hasn't won anything yet then you defer to them.

-If everyone who rolls for a piece has won something then the item just goes to the highest roll as if no one has gotten anything.

-If you win a tank or healer specific item, that item still counts as an item you've won for the night. So your next roll will on an item will not count unless everyone rolling has all won something.

It's really plain and simple. It's called spreading the love. If no one likes this then I will start a DKP system.....no one likes DKP.

I'll own up to it. I rolled when I had already won an item. To be completely honest though, I have the WORST memory. To make up I passed the shoulders along to the first person standing around because once again.. I forgot to check the rolls. Mea culpa.

It's fine man.

I will be talking with the officers about a few things with raid soon. One thing I will discuss is whether or not we are going to implement a loot council. The roll system will be the same but if a certain piece is a larger upgrade or is more optimized for their class and spec then the council may over rule a roll. But I don't think we will get into that until later.

I also think your contribution to the raid should be factored in. If someone is being carried and not putting forth the effort of simple things like mechanics (not standing in bad shit) or not putting in the effort to improve/ learn. They should roll like everyone else but they lose the "If you have won something already and someone rolls against you who hasn't won anything yet then you defer to them."privilege.

Make the rules simple

DPS: Must be higher than the tank
Tanks/ Healers: Have rule specific set by GM or Officer.

I know this is making me look like the bad guy or a dick but that is not my intent. I just would hate to see someone who has worked hard and made a valiant effort to get shafted on gear by someone who is not putting for the effort.

So we came across this issue last night...

Say a piece of gear drops and the raid is asked to roll for main spec....and off spec... both with no takers. One person chimes in saying that if no one else wants it, they will take it. If a piece of gear drops later, which is a big upgrade for that person, should their MS - Need roll really be ignored because they "already received a piece of gear that night", even though no one else wanted it?

Just to be clear... this did not happen to me but I know this applied to a couple people last night.

Not speaking for the officers, but I would say obviously it shouldn't. That person would have needed to be more vocal about it though; keeping track of who gets what and why isn't exactly worth the effort every time we down a boss.

If someone says your roll doesn't count speak up and say "Yes it does, the piece I received was not a MS roll.".

An easy way to track loot on bosses or even the whole raid week is Exorsus raid tools, its a great raiding mod to have to track manythings but it also has a bouns loot and loot tracker and will let you know who got what. You can also have it send you a whisper when someone bonus rolls something so you can make sure someone isnt getting the same item. Very handy

Bonus Rolled Loot shouldn't apply at all to loot rules, should it?

Otherwise, it seems like that would disincentivize using bonus rolls in Guild Raids.

If my Bonus Rolled gear counts against me, I'd rather save my bonus rolls for nights when I'm pugging.

Bonus Rolled loot, does not and will not ever count toward your loot count.

As for the other concerns, if someone takes a piece of gear that no one rolls for because they want to play around with it then no, I would say that doesn't count either. I am taking count of the contested pieces of loot and tracking who has gotten what.
