Hey Octopodes,

So the question a lot of people have been asking lately is: "what should we do after the pre-patch lands?"

Our tentative plan was to test ourselves on H Manny/Archi to see how everyone is getting used to their new abilities and talents. In the past pre-patch has also coincided with an across the board buff or raid boss nerfs. If that is the case it might be fun to keep mythic progression full ahead.

I've spent a significant amount of time on the PTR with my lil gnomie and it looks like as-is my dps will go down slightly (and maybe a little bit higher in aoe situations). But you never know, as I said, in the past blizz throws raiders a bone and gives us some buffs.

Anyone else have an opinion about what to do when it lands?

Personally, I expect that our raid team is going to take a MASSIVE hit once pre-patch launches due to paladin, MM hunter, and tank nerfs/massive changes alone (assuming no raid boss nerfs).

I'd like to see a fresh heroic run once pre-patch drops so that we can make sure that everyone gets a handle on which talents/rotations/cd's to use on each fight on lower citadel under a lower pressure scenario (assuming we can still take down H Manny/Archie) so that mythic goes a little smoother if we attempt it again.

All in all, I don't think we can really predict one way or the other since the pre-patch changes affect some of our classes hugely. That's the big reason why a lot of people wanted to push Kilrogg this week, since we KNOW we could've gotten it if it's as much easier than council as everyone says whereas now we aren't sure whether we'll get it or not or not even sure when pre-patch will launch.

I definitely don't think we should just give up and roll-over and stop attempting, no matter what happens. The experience will definitely help us prepare for raiding going forward.

I'd agree with fresh H over H manny/archy, coming from a spot where my spec has been completely overhauled annd I plan on switching my main as soon as pre-patch drops. Warlock/Druid I've at least been able to re-pick up with little issue.

^^^^^^^

MM hunter is like my bars have been set on fire. I don't think it overall will be bad once I fully figure it out (or switch specs, I guess) but for the moment I've decided to revisit it later.

I think I have to agree on starting a fresh Heroic. As a MM hunter, our abilities have changed quite a bit. I still need to test BM on the PTR, and hopefully that will be this weekend. I've read better things on BM, but I wonder about the massive number of pets surrounding melee players if we have 3-5 hunters as usual

I don't intend to give up Mythics if I can help it, but I don't have any alts that I'm proficient with, or are geared anywhere near mythics, let along normals. I'm willing to try anything, like usual though.

I know they normally nerf bosses a bit to compensate, and that may be enough to keep us progressing. It just isn't the same as defeating the boss before that nerf.
