Wondering if anyone has been trying out their class on the PTR server? How are you liking the changes? Any concerns you have?

Personally, as a MM hunter I'm having trouble finding the rhythm of the spec. I played around this weekend for 2-3 hours trying different talent combinations. I found some somewhat promising builds, and hopefully with the artifact ability the flow will smooth out.

Mastery for the MM hunter increases the spell range. I queued a bunch of random dungeons while testing, and got thrown into an Everbloom run. I had talented into Barrage and Sidewinders, and with no way to change talents unless you are in a "safe space", I was stuck with them. I tried to avoid using them, but my DPS was pathetic. I started letting loose on those talents and I think I derp pulled more than I ever have. It was a glorious huntard moment that I wish I had remembered to screen shot, but I was trying to survive. We made it through that ordeal, and everyone had a good laugh.

I'll be testing out BM and SV this week/weekend. I grouped with a few SV hunters and they put out some nice numbers.

I haven't had time to test out what warrior is going to be like. But I have seen videos on fury spec and it's looking great! Seems less RNG-based than the current build (but not entirely free of RNG), which I am really excited about.

Though I am worried that warriors will have to raid as Arms due to the enrage 30% damage debuff. If I have to reduce my dps in order to survive that's no bueno. Some of the alpha test videos also suggest that Arms is better in end-game content progression than fury. Though so much has changed since then.

I will likely be Fury/Arms anyway because they might be taking aoe away from fury (sorta).

SV? That's the new melee hunter build right? Tbh I'm kinda worried that melee will be suddenly over-crowded with hunters and the addition of Demon Hunters.

Yes SV (Survival) is the revamped spec that is now melee. I suppose there will be an abundance of SV Hunters and new DH's out there. Similar to DK's in Wrath and Monk's in MoP.

As long the new specs aren't over tuned, and thus overpowered, the thrill should wane a little after the first tier hopefully.

I was able to play around with the new DK setup and honestly it's looking pretty good. The lore is awesome and unholy is much easier in my opinion but very effective. Unholy DK will be the spec to play for sure. The AOE damage is going to be MEAN as long as it is played well and the Artifact weapon is build right. As for the melee floor being crowded, I don't think we will have to worry too much as long as we get a holy paladin. If we have like 8 melee including tanks then whoever is playing a Holy Paladin will pull some very good healing numbers due to the fact that they heal more the closer they are to their targets. They also have a healing aura that is also affected by the distance. So have more melee SHOULDN'T be too much of a problem.

Side note: I may main Holy Paladin depending on what we are able to recruit as we move into legion.

Shamans are looking super OP, especially enhance! So Cataanaa should be happy about that. Hopefully Blizz doesn't nerf them too hard or at all.

I'm not looking at ptr stuff because I want it to all be new when it releases. I'm def going to be a druid. But I'm contemplating being a cat/tree. Maybe swing heals. We'll see

I haven't looked at the H Pally yet on PTR. I leveled one to 100 with Mandog on a guardian druid. Single target heals were easy enough to handle, but if I needed any AOE heals, well they don't have crap in that category. Some of it was probably me, as I didn't understand beacon swapping at that time.

I was working on an R Shaman as well. I like healing on that more than the H Pally so far. Also need to look at them on the PTR as well.

I can understand wanting it all to be new. Though to be honest, there isn't really anything to see other than the new abilities and talents. The pre-patch event can be ignored as long as you stay out of the few zones it happens in. It's not a beta build, so we don't get to see any new content, dungeons, quests, raids, etc.

As long as you keep posting tidbits of trivia, all will be right with the universe, no matter what class/spec you play!

Huh, I thought it was basically an open beta. Didn't know it wouldn't reveal stuff. I might check it out!

I could not agree more. :)

Just make sure you're playing a spec/class that you will have FUN playing! Not just what is perfect for the guild.

I suspect that Legion might be the first time ever (that I am aware of), that fury warriors won't want to stack crit! From the PTR and wowhead's legendary weapon calculator it looks like warriors will get free 100% crit chance every 50s (actually much more often due to Odyn's Champion giving us reduced cds). Not to mention that they took away all crit-related procs except enrage, which now activates for free every time you use a main dps cd.

Not stacking crit (if things stay as they are) is going to feel strange! But it's looking like Mastery and Haste break-points might be more important in Legion. Well...until they change something.^^
